Friday, November 23, 2018 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Coffee morning at Northwood Hills Library
Talk by Ronald Koorm F.R.I.C.S about “Eastcote Outstation” during World War 2, it’s significance in codebreaking the German Enigma machines, and post-war events including development into GCHQ and beyond.
The information has been extensively researched, and will include the relevance to Bletchley Park, also Stanmore and other relevant sites. Some illustrations also to amplify the talk, with some information further clarified by Bletchley Park.
A previous talk by the speaker was given in September this year at Eastcote Library, and further information has since been obtained to arrive at a better picture of when, and how, events occurred, and how naval WRNS (Wrens) made a significant difference to the war effort.
The speaker is a retired chartered surveyor and access consultant, living in Pinner, West London, and has lectured on many different subjects both technical, and non-technical over the years.
The site of Eastcote Outstation is now Pembroke Park Estate.
